Fish Collection
Den größten Teil der Fischsammlung stellen über 10.000 Nasspräparate von Fischen aus aller Welt, darunter auch Typusmaterial von sechs Arten. In der Trockensammlung finden sich über 500 Objekte, darunter eine umfangreiche Sammlung von Haigebissen. Ein osteologische Vergleichssammlung befindet sich im Aufbau. Mit über 1.300 Einheiten hat das Meeresmuseum eine der größten Sammlungen von Aufhellpräparaten in Deutschland.

The majority of the fish collection is made up of over 10,000 wet preparations for fish from all over the world, including type material of six species. The dry collection contains more than 500 objects, including an extensive collection of shark bites. An osteological comparison collection is under construction. With more than 1,300 units, the Maritime Museum has one of the largest collections of brightening preparations in Germany.
